29 januari 2024. De vrijwilligers van de Rode Halve Maan ontvangen een noodoproep. Een meisje van zes jaar, Hind Rajab, zit vast in een onder vuur genomen auto in Gaza en smeekt om hulp. Terwijl de hulpverleners haar aan de telefoon proberen te houden, zetten ze alles op alles om een ambulance bij haar te krijgen. Maar zonder toestemming van het Israëlische leger kan er geen voertuig worden toegelaten. Ze wachten urenlang op antwoord, maar uiteindelijk komt alle hulp te laat. Hind’s stem blijft achter als getuigenis. De scènes in de meldkamer van de hulpdiensten zijn gereconstrueerd en geënsceneerd, op basis van ooggetuigenverslagen en transcripties; de stemmen op de geluidsbanden zijn echt. 29 January 2024. Volunteers from the Red Crescent receive an emergency call. A six-year-old girl, Hind Rajab, is trapped in a car under fire in Gaza and is begging for help. As the emergency responders try to keep her on the phone, they do everything they can to get an ambulance to her. But without permission from the Israeli army, no vehicle is allowed to pass. They wait for hours for a response, but in the end all help arrives too late. Hind’s voice remains as testimony.

The scenes in the emergency call center are reconstructed and staged, based on eyewitness accounts and transcripts; the voices on the audio recordings are real. Kaouther Ben Hania: “This story is about our shared responsibility (…) and how the silence of the world is part of the violence.”
